According to the Sioux City Journal, a former Tyson Foods meat plant in Cherokee, Iowa, will reopen on Monday after being closed for about five years. The Iowa Food Group plant has a new owner and product line, backed by a group of investors. The paper reports workers at the plant will take beef, chicken, pork and lamb (slaughtered elsewhere) and process it for retail or food service: slicing, dicing, marinating and packaging.
