Take a short ride with Sharla past the grounds of the Fort Worth Stock Show to see how differently things look this year. The first thing you will notice (coming in from Montgomery street) is the construction site that was there before is now a big, beautiful building called Dickies Arena. This is a REALLY BIG DEAL. Just past the arena, you can get a glimpse of the new Cattle Barn 1. More to come on that in future posts.
Scheduled to open in 2019, this new facility will host concerts, sporting events and family shows, as well as host the month-long Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (next year, of course). The arena can seat 14,000, including premium seating options such as suites, clubs and loge boxes.
Big events already on schedule include the King of Country himself, George Strait, which is the very first concert at Dickies Arena on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019.
TCU Men’s Basketball Will Play USC on Dec. 6, 2019.
The 2020 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship will be held at the arena on March 12, 2020.
The 2020 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship is schedule at the arena for April 17, 2020.
The first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship will be here on March 17, 2022.
