Washington on the Brazos, near Brenham, Texas, is hoping to raise some money by raffling off a herd of cattle. It was founded when Texas was still a part of Mexico and the settlement was the site of the Convention of 1836 and the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
The herd consists of 20 F1 Braford Heifers. They'll each be approximately 800 pounds by the time of delivery. The cattle can be delivered anywhere, but there will be a charge for distances over 100 miles. You can also take the cash value of the animals.
Raffle tickets are just $50 each and 2,000 tickets will be sold. The drawing is on June 30.
Proceeds will benefit Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site, the place Where Texas Became Texas.
