In letters dated May 1, both the Board of Directors of the American Angus Association and CEO Allen Moczygemba announced his resignation effective May 15.
The board's letter stated, "Allen has been a strong leader for the Association and a dedicated servant to our members during his three-and-a-half years at our Saint Joseph, Mo., headquarters. While we know this decision understandably may create some uncertainty among our membership, please be assured that the Board of Directors values all of our members and the contributions each person makes every day.
"We are initiating the process to identify qualified candidates to become our new chief executive officer. Until then, Chief Operating Officer Chris Stallo will serve as interim CEO and oversee the operations of the Association and its entities. The memberships needs are first and foremost, and the American Angus Association is blessed to have many highly skilled, professional employees dedicated to carrying out the daily functions of the organization. Association members can expect no disruption in operations and service
